An exhibition of stone sculptures and paintings from Bornholm’s coast.
Two former classmates from Skolen for Brugskunst (1985) are exhibiting together for the first time: Jørn Villumsen is a draftsman and illustrator who has now become a stone sculptor. Michael Petersen worked as a painter, then as an illustrator and designer, and has now rediscovered painting.
Jørn Villumsen has worked as a newspaper illustrator at the daily newspaper Politiken for 30 years and at Bornholms Tidende. He has illustrated many children’s books and educational materials and, most recently, is the author and illustrator of the book “Dæjn borrijnholmska FLÂUAN KÂL”. He has also created posters and short animated films.
Michael Petersen has been a freelance graphic designer since 2018 and a visual artist since 1982. He has worked as a graphic designer at Copenhagen Zoo on illustrations and exhibitions, including Den Arktiske Ring, and as a graphic designer for Frederiksberg Municipality/Landbrugsraadet and the Greenland Home Rule Government in Nuuk. His other work includes the books STEN – På rejse gennem jordens fortid, SØ & Å and Spor i naturen, as well as nature interpretation at Utterslev Mose and Gladsaxe Park, among other places.
