Into Nature – the Ekkodalen Bogs.

A walk with Morten DD Hansen and Michael Stoltze.

The major restoration of Ekkodalen's bogs and meadows was completed in 2020, and a remarkable variety of animal and plant life is now beginning to establish itself. We will visit the area and talk about how to restore nature on former farmland – something Denmark needs to become world-class at if its ambitions to achieve 30% protected nature are to be fulfilled.

The two highly experienced biologists, Morten DD Hansen and Michael Stoltze, have extensive experience with nature restoration projects and will explain how to bring nature back after centuries, or perhaps millennia, of farming. We will look at what has been achieved in the Ekkodalen bogs after just a few years of nature restoration work.

Wear suitable clothing and footwear. If the weather is very poor, the event will be canceled and the fee refunded. In that case, the cancellation will be announced on the organizer's website and on NaturBornholm's website.
