What do we tell ourselves and one another about Bornholm’s history? Do we know where our shared knowledge comes from? These questions are the starting point for the lecture, in which archaeologist and PhD student Anders Pihl will delve into the literature on the island’s history.
We will take a closer look at topics including drifting sand, farm names, Tunneby and an exchange of property dating from 1313. We will also examine something that seems to recur in the literature on the island’s history: uncritically repeating what others have written before. We have done this for centuries, but with the rise of artificial intelligence, we must be more attentive than ever and safeguard our shared history.
Bornholms Museum presents the lecture in cooperation with Bornholms Folkeuniversitet.
