Brobyggerne i Arnager – the story of a small village with a big vision
How does a small fishing village on Bornholm manage to take on a major construction project? Find out in the photo book Brobyggerne i Arnager, which tells the story of community spirit, determination and a very special bridge.
Through photographs and stories, follow the rebuilding of Arnager’s distinctive wooden bridge from fall 2018 to fall 2019. It is Northern Europe’s longest wooden bridge over seawater and connects the fishing village with Denmark’s first island harbor.
Based on daily updates from the construction period, the book also takes you back through the bridge’s history from 1884 to 2021.
A story of what a small community can achieve when everyone pulls together.
The book is available from bookstores or can be ordered directly from the author, Kirsten Juni.
