From Dansevise to Only Teardrops – the songs that moved Europe

Emmelie de Forest invites the audience on a personal musical journey through the songs that have shaped her as a person and an artist. The concert takes place at Musikhuzet on December 4, 2027, at 8:00 PM.

Since winning the Eurovision Song Contest in 2013, Emmelie has performed across Europe – in concert halls, with symphony orchestras, and at festivals, TV shows and major live events. With Fra Dansevise til Only Teardrops, she turns her attention to the musical heritage that has helped shape her own artistic journey.

Drawing on Eurovision’s rich songbook, particularly from the 1960s and 1970s, she interprets songs she grew up with and has found inspiration in. The audience can hear new interpretations of songs including Dansevise, To lys på et bord, Poupée de cire, poupée de son, Volare and Eres tú (Rør ved mig).

Favorites from later decades, such as Främling, Danse i måneskin and Fra Mols til Skagen, are interwoven with Emmelie’s own songs, including her winning song Only Teardrops and more recent material from her own musical world.

French, Italian, Spanish, Swedish, English and Danish songs come together through personal stories and intimate arrangements. Along the way, Emmelie talks about the songs, the stories behind them and their significance for her own music and artistic identity.

The concert is not a traditional Eurovision show. Emmelie de Forest takes the stage with two musicians in an intimate trio format featuring piano, guitar, mandolin, dobro, autoharp and vocal harmonies. The memorable melodies, the stories and the European song tradition take center stage.
