Vinterjazz 2027

Anna, Emil and Jeppe met in Odense and discovered a musical connection that truly took shape during a trip to a vacation home. There, they pooled their creative energy and wrote 10 songs in a short space of time. Within a year, they had written 100 songs.

The trio has won competitions organized by Jelling Festival and Tinderbox, receiving the most votes from both the jury and the audience. Their debut album produced the radio hit “Hvad vil du ha´” among other songs, and the band later wrote “Vi gør det hele igen” for the women’s national soccer team.

Fräulein has performed at SPOT Festival, supported Love Shop and played at festivals including Smukfest, Wonderfestiwall, Jelling and Midtfyn. In 2026, the trio begins a new chapter with songs released across several EPs that will be brought together as an album.

Band members

Anna – vocals and guitar

Anna grew up in Esbjerg with rockabilly and Lynyrd Skynyrd on the stereo. A concert by The Police in Aarhus inspired her to buy a guitar and pursue her musical dreams. She has also played drums in a punk band. Her influences include Joni Mitchell, Kate Bush, Jack Antonoff, Taylor Swift, Lorde, Anne Linnet, Portishead and Fleetwood Mac.

Emil – bass, guitar and keyboards

Emil grew up with Green Day’s energy and melodies, piano lessons and a Kashmir concert that made a big impression on him at the age of 11. He later took up the guitar and, at 16, won the title of best guitarist at an Emergenza music competition. Bass subsequently became his instrument of choice. His influences include Royal Blood, D-A-D, Kashmir, Simon & Garfunkel, Green Day, Diana Krall and Chet Baker.

Jeppe – drums

Jeppe grew up in Odense and started taking drum lessons at the age of 10. During the pandemic, he played drums for up to five hours a day while the band was unable to meet. His influences include Fleetwood Mac, Radiohead, Kate Bush, Future Islands, Patti Smith, Bruce Springsteen, David Bowie and Prince.

The name Fräulein

The name is pronounced “frøjlajn”. Despite the umlaut, the band is Danish through and through. The name came about when a text message from a female friend in Germany came up in conversation on the way to a meeting with a record label.

The three friends also share an interest in board games, PlayStation, Star Wars and good coffee.
