Hiking route: Around Hammerknuden

Experience Hammerknuden on an approximately 7 km circular hike through the striking rocky landscape at the northern tip of Bornholm. For long stretches, the route follows the coast and offers views of the Baltic Sea, Hammerhavn, Opalsøen and Hammersø.

The route

The hike can begin at the car park by Sandvig Beach. From here, follow the blue markers along the coast towards Hammerodde Lighthouse. After the lighthouse, the route continues along a narrow, hilly and rocky path. Along the way, you pass the ruins of Salomons Kapel, which is more than 700 years old.

Before the descent towards Hammerhavn, the route turns away from the coast and climbs steeply towards the cliffs above Opalsøen. It continues through wooded terrain, down to Hammersø and back towards Sandvig. Hammerhavn is not directly on the route but can be reached by a detour of approximately 200 metres each way.
