This family-owned hotel lies in the middle of the forest, about 4 km from Rønne and only 125 metres from the sandy beach, with cycling routes and outdoor experiences just outside the door.

Hotel Skovly has 28 double rooms and three holiday apartments spread across five accommodation wings around the large natural grounds. Every room and apartment has a private terrace, and the largest rooms have plenty of space to keep your bike indoors as well.

A hotel designed for cyclists

Mountain biking, gravel or road cycling? The family behind Hotel Skovly are cyclists themselves and have adapted the hotel over the years to meet the needs that come with a holiday on two wheels.

You can keep your cleaned bike in your room or use the locked bicycle parking. Facilities include a bike-washing and maintenance area with a compressor, space for minor adjustments and repairs, and a bicycle workshop with tools for hotel guests. The reception also stocks selected spare parts and equipment in case something causes trouble along the way.

If you do not bring your own bike, Hotel Skovly rents out both mountain bikes and touring bikes.

Ride directly from the hotel to the trail

The hotel’s own MTB trail, the Skovly Trail, starts and ends at the hotel and takes you approximately 7.5 kilometres through the area. Several other MTB trails are also located close to the hotel.

If you want to explore more of Bornholm, Hotel Skovly has collected more than 300 routes for activities including mountain biking, gravel and road cycling. The reception can provide inspiration and GPX files, helping you find a ride that suits your legs and ambitions for the day.

Forest on one side – beach on the other

You do not have to be a cyclist to stay at Skovly. The hotel stands on 22,000 m² of natural grounds in the middle of the forest, with terraces and a garden surrounding the accommodation wings. From here, you can walk straight onto the forest trails or follow the short path through the woods to the beach, just 125 metres from the hotel.

The location also makes the hotel a base for hiking, running, swimming and other outdoor experiences – or for a stay where the day’s biggest decision is whether to head through the forest or down to the water.
