Little North
Nordic jazz sounds meet the energy of New York when Little North and saxophonist Hannes Bennich perform at Svanekegården. Drawing on the album Crossing Currents, the musicians offer new interpretations of the music through their encounter with the audience.

Crossing Currents feat. Hannes Bennich
Vinterjazz 2027
Crossing Currents is Little North’s latest album, released on the German label ACT Music. The band has previously released six albums and has toured Denmark and Europe in recent years.
The album is the result of a meeting in New York between the trio, American vibraphonist Joel Ross (US) and Swedish saxophonist Hannes Bennich – two voices that have long been sources of inspiration for the trio. Here, Little North’s Nordic sound and storytelling approach intertwine with the energy of New York’s jazz scene.
Crossing Currents also tells the story of Little North’s encounter with their sources of inspiration. The album captures the moment in the studio, but on stage the trio deliberately takes a new direction, giving the music a new dimension. The audience is invited into a musical current that starts in Copenhagen, flows through New York and Amsterdam and takes on new life on stage every evening.
Hannes Bennich (SE), born in 1994, is a saxophonist and a regular member of Kathrine Windfeld Sekstet. He also tours with his own Hannes Bennich Quartet.
The concerts are created in the moment through the encounter between musicians and audience and therefore cannot be heard on the record.
