Discover the rugged rocky landscape of Paradisbakkerne

Explore Paradisbakkerne on eastern Bornholm, where dramatic rock formations, deep rift valleys and winding woodland trails create one of the island's most fascinating natural areas.

Just three kilometers northwest of Nexø, a hilly landscape awaits, with deciduous woodland, conifers and traces of the Ice Age. Here you can follow three marked hiking routes and experience nature up close.

Along the way, you can visit Bornholm's largest rocking stone, an impressive glacial erratic weighing around 35 metric tons that actually rocks if you push it in the right place. You can also explore the remains of the ancient refuge fortress Gamleborg or continue toward Helvedesbakkerne with its characteristic rift valleys.

Paradisbakkerne is an ideal destination for nature lovers and adventurous families alike. Remember to bring a map, as the many small trails can make it difficult to find your way around the hilly terrain.
