Get up close to wild animals, people and nature through Anne and Carsten Skjerk’s photographs from South Africa and Mauritius. At Ølhuzed in Hasle, the pictures from the couple’s 2005 trip are being shown publicly for the first time.
Discover Anne and Carsten Skjerk’s photographs from South Africa and Mauritius at Ølhuzed in Hasle. The pictures were taken during the couple’s trip in 2005, when they celebrated their 12½-year wedding anniversary. None of the photographs have been shown publicly before.
The photographs were taken on jeep safaris and bush walks. The subjects are primarily wild animals, but also people and African nature. A few pictures from Mauritius offer a more luxurious contrast to the safari experiences.
Anne and Carsten have lived in Hasle since 2008. Both have a long-standing passion for photography and were active members of Næstved Fotoklub even before the advent of digital cameras.
Exhibition opening on Friday, November 13, at 4:00 PM
At the opening on November 13, 2026, Anne and Carsten will talk about the trip and the experiences behind the pictures, including touching and nerve-racking encounters with wild animals during their walks.
