What do we lead each other to believe when it comes to Bornholm’s history? Do we know where our shared knowledge comes from?
These questions are the starting point for this Saturday’s lecture, in which archaeologist Anders Pihl will delve into the literature on the island’s history. Among other things, we will take a closer look at sand drift, farm names, Tunneby and an exchange of land in 1313.
We will also examine something that seems to recur in the literature on the island’s history: uncritically repeating what others have written before. We have been doing this for centuries, but with the advent of artificial intelligence, we need to be more vigilant than ever and safeguard our shared history.
Presented by archaeologist and PhD candidate Anders Pihl.
Bornholms Museum is hosting the lecture in collaboration with Bornholms Folkeuniversitet.
