Meet the trail builders behind Bornholm’s MTB trails

When you ride across rocks, forest floors and steep descents around Rytterknægten in Almindingen, some of what you experience beneath your wheels is the work of Trailbuilders Bornholm. The volunteer trail builders helped create the MTB trails in collaboration with the Danish Nature Agency and Destination Bornholm and continue to maintain them.

The trails make use of Bornholm’s distinctive terrain, with rocks, roots and elevation changes, and range from easier routes to technically demanding red and black descents. Around Rytterknægten, this is not one traditional circular route but a network of trails where several descents share the same climbs.

Get closer to the trails

From time to time, Trailbuilders Bornholm organises guided rides, events and other activities centred on Bornholm’s MTB community.
