Visit Jesper Westley and Pernille Kaalund at their country home in Sømarken on southern Bornholm, where home and photographic practice come together close to the Bornholm coast. Here you can experience their interpretations of Bornholm’s natural surroundings, focusing on the light, the horizon, the landscape’s changing moods and traces of life.

Their photography is rooted in the place of which they are themselves a part. The sea, the tranquillity and the natural surroundings of Sømarken are transformed into evocative photographic expressions, presenting Bornholm through the photographers’ eyes.

From the world to Sømarken

Jesper Westley has worked professionally with photography for around three decades and has photographed people, places and stories in more than 60 countries. His work ranges from international productions and reportage to more personal photographic projects.

On Bornholm, the setting is different. Here you can encounter the photographic art where it is created and experience how the island’s landscape, light and proximity to the Baltic Sea find their way into the images.
