Route description

Like any bikepacking and long-distance route, you pass a number of cultural sites, as well as a number of cozy towns where you can stock up or take a break.

The route can of course be done in one (long) day. But why not split it up into 2 or 3 days and sleep, either at a hotel or guesthouse, or at one of the island’s many campsites.

From Rønne you drive through the Nordskoven north towards Hasle, and then continue along the beautiful coastal road, past Helligpeder and Teglkås.

On the way towards Sandvig and Allinge you drive on the gravel roads of Slotslyngen. After Allinge the route goes inland. Via small roads and gravel roads you pass deserted forest roads in Rutsker Højlyng and Rø Plantage.

The route turns towards the coast via Østerlars. Along the coastal road you pass Randkløve Skår, which can be reached on foot. You reach Svaneke, which is the easternmost point on the route.

Up through the landscape you go towards Paradisbakkerne, and the large forest in the middle. Here you spend the next many kilometers driving across the middle of the island, along remote gravel roads. At the western end you leave the forest for a while, and drive via small roads back towards the coast and Rønne.

The last natural areas you pass through are Knudsker- and Onsbæk Plantation, as well as the beautiful terrain around Arnager and the airport.

The tour ends, very fittingly, at Rønne Torv, with its cafes and restaurants.
