PLEASE NOTE: THERE IS A MISPRINT IN THE PRINTED EDITION OF THE CRAFT & KULTUR PROGRAMME. “Danish Songs and Hymns in a Flamenco Dress – closing event at Torvehal Bornholm” takes place on Sunday 20 September from 18:00 to 20:00. A dance concert with Erika Sanchez and Kai Bredholt, which also brings this year’s Craft & Kulturuger to a festive close with delicious tapas from Stig & Simikka and Torvehal Bornholm. With accordion, flamenco shoes and the Mexican instrument jarana, Erika Sanchez and Kai Bredholt interpret Danish hymns and songs from the Danish Folk High School Songbook in flamenco style, complemented by flamenco dance and Mexican songs. Kai Bredholt (Denmark) was born in Copenhagen. He trained as a boatbuilder and joined Odin Teatret in 1990. There he worked as an actor, musician and director of performances and exchanges around the world until 2024. In 2025, he helped found Teatret Sleipner. In 2010, he received the Elderly Prize in Holstebro for his work to increase older people’s joy of life through theatre and music. In 2016, he helped found Landsby Laboratoriet in Idom-Råsted, which works with village development. Erika Sanchez (Mexico) was born and raised in Mexico City. She worked as a chemical engineer until 2008, when she decided to follow her dream of becoming a flamenco dancer. She lives in Denmark and works as a dancer, singer and organiser of cultural events and theatre performances. For guests with a Craft & Kultur wristband only.
