Easter holidays for all ages

There are plenty of exciting activities for both children and adults on Bornholm at Easter. Winter is beginning to loosen its grip, daffodils are blooming in the gardens, and the anemones are ready to burst into flower in Almindingen, Bornholm’s largest forest. Here you can meet living bison and take a walk along the cosy Mouse Trail, which you will find by the large nature playground opposite the trotting track.

Bornholm’s nature is a wonderful experience at this time of year. Make sure you visit one of the island’s 14 waterfalls, which are often full of water in spring.

Did you know? Bornholm’s waterfalls almost have an expiry date

Many people associate Bornholm with sun and summer, but some of the island’s most special nature experiences are best enjoyed in spring.

Bornholm has 14 waterfalls, and at Easter there is often plenty of water in the rift valleys, streams and small falls after the rain and snow of winter. This is when places such as Døndalen and Stavehøl can show their most powerful side.

If you visit the island in July or August, several of the waterfalls may have been reduced to small, trickling streams on the forest floor.

So if you want to experience Bornholm’s raw nature up close, Easter is one of the best times of year to go in search of the island’s waterfalls.
