Høstet - Havtorn Bornholm

HØSTET, is run by Mads and Camilla Meisner, who planted the first sea buckthorn cuttings in 2010. Today, work is being done on a version 2.0 of the plantation, visit us and follow what is happening.

Farm shop and plantation:
You will find both products that are made in their own production kitchen at Fløjlegård, e.g. sea buckthorn jam, sea buckthorn juice, sea buckthorn syrup etc., as well as products that are made in collaboration with other producers on Bornholm and in the rest of Denmark, here it is e.g. schnapps, gin, beer and soap.

The farm shop is open from Easter to autumn and the opening hours vary throughout the season.

Guided tours etc.
It is possible to book a guided tour and tastings for groups of min. 15 people. Here the couple talks about the work of establishing Denmark's first sea buckthorn plantation and starting a food production. About how sea buckthorn is botanically a nut with a fruit cluster around it and that you have to make sure to have both male and female bushes, as well as some of their experiences and challenges with this exciting raw material. Samples of sea buckthorn jam for cheese and biscuits, as well as sea buckthorn slush, and a small sample of sea buckthorn gin and liqueur are served.

In addition to all the edible products, we also work with skin care. Based on a desire to use all parts of the berry, sea buckthorn seed oil is pressed from the seeds of sea buckthorn. This oil has some very special skin care properties, which you can read more about here.
There is also a wonderful SPF30 sunscreen that has been developed with sea buckthorn seed oil and sea buckthorn juice. It is lovely to use on the face, where it both protects and cares without being greasy.
