st. Clemens Church
St. Clemens Church in Klemensker is a distinctive and colourful church with a rich history. It combines historical roots with artistic interior design. A visit offers a unique insight into Bornholm’s church architecture and art.

St. Clemens Church in Klemensker
St. Clemens Church in Klemensker on Bornholm was built in 1882 and replaced the smaller local medieval church.
The church room is characterized by the restoration that took place in 1960 under the leadership of architect Rolf Graae from Copenhagen, in collaboration with the Bornholm painter Paul Høm from Gudhjem.
Paul Høm was in charge of choosing the many beautiful colors that now give the large church room its special character and decorated the pulpit (from 1882) with the four evangelist figures and a vine in the fields, just as he donated a mosaic work to the church that sits above the choir arch, a reproduction of one of the oldest ancient church symbols: the pierced lamb with the victory banner and the chalice.
All of the church's chandeliers, except for the three above the aisle, were designed by Rolf Graae.
